this is a portrait of a fellow called matthew ryan. it's a touch embarassing cos you don't want to give the impression of an obsessive or something. but, whatever it is, it came from a time (which is somehow reoccuring) when it was difficult to get my brain to portray onto a surface what was going on in my mind. he had written a note about one of the lyrics 'return to me' that gave the whole mood at the time a new perspective, and it turned into this picture.
the conflict between forcing the process, or allowing it to come to you- it's different than commitment, hard work, and determination. determination and continually working at it allows you to be in the right place and time when the things come back together to allow something to happen...
